Performance Weekend Details! IMPORTANT!!!

PLEASE READ FOR IMPORTANT DETAILS ABOUT THIS WEEKEND'S DRESS REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE!

Saturday, December 1 from 9am - 12noon - DRESS REHEARSAL

* Please have your children arrive 10 - 15 minutes early to get their costumes on.  We have them on a rack with names and if you can help your child get into their costume before you leave we would very much appreciate that!

*Please have your child wear shorts and a t-shirt for under their costume.  They will be barefoot on stage.

*Storytellers will wear their choir t-shirts (to be distributed on Saturday) and Jeans with black or brown shoes. Librarians - what you wore Sunday is perfect!

*If you signed up to provide snacks for our dress rehearsal please make sure you bring that with you at drop off.

Sunday, December 2 - Performance Day

*We will be performing our title song during the 9:30 service to promote the musical at the 11:00 service.

*Please arrive at 9:00 am sharp and bring your children to the AUDITORIUM.  Sherry and Sarah will be there to take the kids and line them up for our sound check.

*We will sing VERY first thing in the 9:30 service.

*When you arrive, please make sure your children are wearing their choir t-shirt (to be distributed Saturday) and jeans or dark pants.  They will need to bring shorts to change into for our performance (unless they are the "main 6")

*Sherry and Sarah will take the children from the 9:30 service to the basement and feed them breakfast.  We have a few parent volunteers who will help us get them in costume and ready for the performance.  You as parents just need to drop them off at 9 and we will handle everything from there and see you at the 11:00 performance :)  You do not need to check the kids in or get security tags as they will not be attending classes.

11:00 AM performance
*Kids will remain in their choir t-shirts, but need to have shorts to change into after the 9:30 service.  Kids will also be barefoot, so please bring a bag or backpack labeled with the child's name to keep their extra pants and shoes in.

*ANGELS - you will need to change your t-shirts as well! Please bring a PLAIN white shirt to wear under your costume.

*Librarians - you will need to bring your Librarian outfits to change into as well so you can wear your choir shirts for the 9:30 performance.

*Storytellers - you have it easy...you don't have to change :)

*We will take the children back stage after the performance to take off their costumes.  You can pick them up in room 101 (choir room to the right of the auditorium) following the service.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE - If we have forgotten something or if you have any other questions that were not answered....email us at ccmpraisecompany@gmail.com or text or call Sarah at 513-702-7340.  We are so excited for an awesome weekend! Thanks for all of your support!!!

A Rockin' Royal Christmas Cast Announced!!!

This is the moment you have all been waiting for! Thanks to all who worked so hard on your auditions and made a special trip to try out for us.  We had a record number of auditioners this year.  WOW...and did you all sure make our jobs difficult!!!  There is always one role that seems to be the most popular and this year was no different.  Our popular role this year was the Librarian.  Half of the people who auditioned read for the role of Librarian!  We had the most difficult time selecting this role because everyone did such a wonderful job.  So much so that we ultimately decided to split the part into two parts....so now there is the Librarian and the Librarian's Assistant.  We also split the Storyteller role into 3 parts.  If you have any questions at all feel free to email us at ccmpraisecompany@gmail.com.

We tried hard to put everyone in a role where we felt they fit and that they would be happy with.  Please know that if you did not get the role you read for it does NOT mean that you didn't do well.  We were more impressed than ever with the number of actors we have!  We are confident that everyone will do wonderfully in their roles.

Everyone on the list (minus the Soloists) needs to come to our Read Through rehearsal next Sunday, September 23 at 4:00.  The scripts will be available at that rehearsal.

Audition Packets and Information for A Rockin' Royal Christmas!

Hello all! We are excited to be kicking off another wonderful season of Children's choir!  This year we have selected the musical "A Rockin' Royal Christmas".  When King Herod sends Sherlock Watson to find out why the kings from the East did not return to him, we discover, along with Sherlock, that Jesus is the "King of kings" and if we believe in Him, we answer to a higher calling than to any king on earth.

PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS INFORMATION...I know there is a TON of it, but it REALLY helps us when everyone knows what is going on and shows up to the audition PREPARED!

If you are interested in auditioning for a speaking part and/or solo for our upcoming Christmas Musical, please find us in the church lobby on Sunday morning to sign up for a time. We will also have the sign up sheet available at our KICK OFF PIZZA PARTY on Sunday, September 9.

When you sign up for an audition you will receive an Audition Packet. If you did not get one or have not signed up, you can print a copy here. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THE PACKET. It is also very important to make sure that you are able to commit to all of the scheduled rehearsal times listed in the packet. You can also see the rehearsal times on the calendar at the bottom of the blog.

We will post options for the solo auditions at a later time. Everyone will also receive a listening CD (on 9/9) to help them learn the music before the auditions.  UPDATE: Those auditioning for a solo may sing any song of their choice.  Please be prepared with your selection when you come for your audition.

Below are the Cast of Characters and the descriptions for each Character. Following that will be the link to the Audition Packet.

Announcing our Cast and Solos for "Arrest These Merry Gentlemen"

What an AMAZING group of kids we have this year! Around 35 kids auditioned this year!!! So much talent from everyone, too! We were very impressed by how prepared some of you were...it was clear that you all worked very hard! We sure had an extremely difficult task ahead of us. These decisions were NOT easy to come by. Everyone did exceptionally well this year which made this even harder. I wish that we could give everyone the part that they want, but unfortunately we have to consider a lot of factors when choosing someone to play a role.

Some of the things that we considered when making these decisions are 1) the age of the child. While we have many talented kids of all ages, some of our kids are in choir for the last year and we want to make sure that the kids who are about to age out of choir get to participate as much as possible. 2) How the child fits into the role. 3) Whether or not the child has already had the opportunity to have a considerable role in the past. We like for everyone to gain as much experience as possible and try to be fair in giving everyone a shot. If a child did not receive the part that they auditioned for, it in no way means that they were not good enough for the part...in fact, the opposite is true. In some cases we had 10+ people audition for the same role. In any case, all roles are equally as important in the telling of our story. We couldn't put on such a show without each and every child involved. We hope that no one is discouraged or upset if they were not selected for the part they auditioned for. We will all have a great time together! For most of you, there's always next year!!! :)

The following is the list of cast and solos. Anyone that was selected for a SPEAKING PART will need to report at 4:00 PM from now on each Sunday evening. Anyone with a NON SPEAKING PART or SOLO only will not need to arrive until 5:00 until further notice.
