Rehearsal Reminder!

Hey everyone! I hope you enjoyed your week off and got to attend Trunk N Treat :) Don't forget Sunday is our LAST 1 hour rehearsal. Make sure if you have a speaking part that you check the schedule to see if you have to be there at 4. Starting November 14 we will need EVERYONE that means ALL cast and choir to report from 4 to 6. That gives us a month to put all of the pieces together and prepare for our BIG performance.

If you didn't receive the email, I wanted to make sure that everyone knows that our performance will now be on Sunday MORNING December 19 at 11 AM. Our dress rehearsal will still be Saturday evening, the 18th and we are adding an additional rehearsal on Wednesday, December 15. Details for those rehearsals will be nailed down by Sunday.

Also, we will be back upstairs in our regular room this week. We are hoping to use the gym from now on since it gave us some extra space last week, but we'll keep you posted on that for sure! Please make sure that you are making every effort to have your kids at practice and on time! Even though Christmas seems far away still, when you practice only once a week, it goes SO fast! We really need everyone there to nail down our parts :) See you all Sunday!

Audition Information and Packets

Auditions for speaking parts and solos in our musical “Back to the Manger” will be held next Sunday, October 3 from 1:30 until 4:30. Please sign-up for an audition time on the posted sheet. You may audition for a speaking role, non-speaking role, solo, or all of the above.

You can click the links below to download and print the Audition Packets. There are separate packets for FEMALE or MALE roles. A listing of characters is also below. Not all characters are represented in the audition packet.

When you come to your audition, please be prepared to read for one role of your choice. We ask that you read through all of the roles and become familiar with them as we may ask you to read another script. Memorization is not required, but is strongly encouraged.

If you would like to audition for a solo, please select a portion of a song from our musical to sing for us. CDs will be sent home with you tonight for practice. If you were not at rehearsal this week you can pick up a CD at the church during the week. Please make arrangements via email or by calling Benji at 229-3200.

We may also ask you a few questions during the audition. Some examples are “Do you have any acting experience?”, “Which role(s) most interest you”, “Why do you want to try out for this part?”. We also ask that parents wait in the hallway during the audition.

We will do our very best to place everyone in the role that we feel most fits the child’s personality and abilities, but we can’t always guarantee that everyone will get the part they try out for. Please be aware that you may be chosen for a part that you did not read for. Make us aware at your audition if there is a part that you would prefer not to receive.

As always, questions are welcome! You can contact us via email at ccmpraisecompany@gmail.com!

Sincerely,

Benji, Sarah, and Sherry

Weekend Schedule for Everyday Heroes!

Hello Everyone! We have a VERY busy weekend coming up! The kids have been working hard to finalize the details of our musical and we hope to tie up all of the loose ends during our last rehearsals. Please read the following information carefully and do not hesitate to call or email either of us with questions, concerns, and for sure if you have a conflict. We really need all of the kids at our dress rehearsal, so please make every effort to be there!

Here is our schedule for the weekend:

SATURDAY:
10:00 am - Meet in the Worship Center (The main auditorium) and be ready to start rehearsal. We will break for lunch around 12:00. Rehearsal will end at 2:00.

Additional Information that you will need for Saturday:

All of the kids (with the exception of the cheerleaders and present day cast and musicians) should wear khaki or light colored shorts and a plain white/tan/brown/light color short sleeved shirt. Please no bright vibrant colors as we will be wearing biblical costumes and want the t-shirts to blend in if they show. For footwear, you have two options...brown leather sandals or bare feet. Cheerleaders should wear DARK colored shorts that are well above the knee and shirts will be provided. Present day cast (Kid 1 and Kid 2) should wear nice school clothes and bring a back pack. Musicians should wear - Holly, what we talked about on Sunday which was guitar shirt, jean jacket, and jeans - Elle a Tie Dye shirt (if possible) or a very wild funky type of shirt....let us know if you need help with this! I will be purchasing wigs for the Musicians this week as well.

We will be ordering pizza for lunch. We could use a couple of parents to be there at noon or a little before to get everything set up for us. We also need volunteers to bring a pack or two of capri sun juice packs. Please let me know if you can help or bring juice so I can make sure that everything is covered.

SUNDAY:
9:00 am - meet in the Worship Center for sound check. We will be singing in some of the services on Sunday, but are not sure which ones yet. I will send out additional information on this as soon as I have it. We will be singing the songs "Everyday Heroes" and "For Such A Time As This" so, if your child has a solo in either of those songs, please let us know if they will be unable to make it.

4:00 pm - meet in the Worship Center for final rehearsals, costuming, sound check, and all of the other fun stuff!
*please wear the same items from above for costuming purposes.
6:00 pm - Performance Begins!!!

I think that pretty much covers anything...If I missed anything (Sherry?) I will send an additional email as soon as possible. You can also check for updates on the blog http://praisecompany.blogspot.com.

Thanks!!!

Hello Everyone!

I hope you had a blessed Easter and a nice Sunday off from choir. I have a few reminders for you, so let's just get to it!

Sunday Morning
We are performing Where There's a Will, There's a Wall in all 4 services! Here is the schedule:

8:50am- Be in the Gym for a sound check, you may just drop you kids off with Sarah and myself and we can take over for this part of the morning while you sit back and drink some coffee. After this sound check is over we will head to the Worship Center (WC) for a sound check over there. We will give the kids a bathroom break and stay with them in the Choir Room until it is time to go on stage.

9:30am—Start the Blended Service (WC)

The time between services will be a donut break, again, Sarah and I will be with them and take care of it, you can enjoy your class or service.

10:05am—Be in the hall outside the gym to enter when called upon

After this service we will be dropping your children off in their regular classes.

11:00am—Start the Classic Praise service (Chapel) We need your help to get your kids to this service. You will need to pick your child up from their regular class and bring them to the Chapel. We would like to have them there at 10:50 so we can get a sound check in there as well.

We will take the kids to the choir room to hang out until our last performance.

11:30am—perform at offering in the contemporary service (WC)

We will take your child back to their classroom or to the gym after this service so that you will pick them up as you normally do.

4:00pm
- EVERYONE has rehearsal from 4-6 this week and next week. We will be in the Chapel this week and the Worship Center the next week. Remember that we are going to be completely off-book this week, all lines should be memorized!

Rehearsal Information

Hey, everyone! I wanted to update you all on what will be going on for the final weeks of our rehearsals. This week, present day cast will meet from 4 - 5 and the choir will meet from 5 - 6. Sunday, April 4th is Easter and we will NOT HAVE REHEARSALS that week. Beginning April 11, we will have ALL CAST AND CHOIR - EVERYONE - meet at 4:00 in the worship center. We will practice for the full two hours as we begin run-through rehearsals. I will update this information on the calendar as well.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, ON SATURDAY, APRIL 24 WE WILL HAVE OUR DRESS REHEARSAL FROM 10AM UNTIL 2PM. It is very important for everyone to be here for that rehearsal. We will be feeding the kids pizza and taking a break around noon and will need a few parents to help set up for that.

Sunday, April 25th we will still meet at 4:00 for last minute prep and rehearsal and our performance will be at 6:00.

Also, we will most likely be singing for morning church service on the weeks of April 11 and April 25. I will pass that information along as soon as the details are finalized. We are looking at singing "Where there's a will, there's a wall" on April 11 and "Everyday Heroes" and "Such a Time as This" for April 25. If your child has a solo in one of those songs and will not be able to make it, please let us know so we can find a replacement for that morning only.

I realize this is a lot of information all at once, so I will do my best to post reminders as everything comes up. Don't hesitate to email me with questions! sarahliz513@gmail.com. Also, please let us know if your child will be unable to attend any of the remaining practices. Thanks!
See you on Sunday!

Everyday Heroes Cast Announced!

First of all, please join me in congratulating Miss Sherry. She and her husband Rob (and their sons Drew and Jake) welcomed their newest addition, Nate, into the family today! He weighed in at 11 pounds 4.6 ounces! Everyone is doing well!

Most of the kids learned which parts they received last evening at rehearsal. For those unable to make it here is the complete list of our cast. Solos were also announced at rehearsal and I unfortunately don't have that list. If you missed last night, you will be assigned your solo upon Sherry's return to rehearsal :)

EVERYDAY HEROES CAST
KID 1 - Will M.
KID 2 - Christabel P.
Musician 1 - Elle B.
Musician 2 - Holly Ba.
Gideon - Isaac C.
Evie - Hannah C.
Mira - Olivia H.
Israelite - Drew M.
King - Brice D.
Hathach - Jordan S.
Zoran - Olivia M.
Haman - Rad M.
Mordecai - Caleb C.
Nehemiah - Nicholas R.
Izzi - Rachel M.
Remy - Hope D.
Scripture 1 - Faith Y.
Scripture 2 - Katie B.
Scripture 3 - Holly Br.
Rock 1 - Cameron M.
Rock 2 - Emilee M.
Cheerleaders - Holly Br., Ella H., Elizabeth P., Megan S., Reagan M., Rachel M.

Please note that we did our best to fit the parts with the kid's personalities. We also tried to give everyone parts that they wanted. It proves difficult every year because the majority of kids all try out for the same part. We take into consideration a lot of factors and hope that ultimately everyone is pleased with the part they receive. I will distribute the scripts next Sunday during practice. The following week, we will begin Drama rehearsals at 4:00. All speaking parts (including cheerleaders) will need to report on Sunday, February 28 @ 4:00 for a read through. A drama rehearsal schedule will be distributed at this time. Thanks!

Audition Packets

Here they finally are…the audition packets! Below you will find a brief description of each character. Some characters may not be represented in the audition packets. We would like for anyone interested in auditioning to review the entire packet and be familiar with all of the characters. Please prepare ONE of the audition scripts for the audition. Please prepare the highlighted lines. We may ask you to read another part based on what we hear.

The sign-up sheet for audition times will be available at Sunday’s rehearsal. If you are unable to make it Sunday, please email me so that we can schedule your audition. Non-Speaking roles do not require an audition.

You can print your audition packet by clicking the link on this post. If for some reason you have trouble viewing or printing the files, email me at sarahliz513@gmail.com and I will make sure you get a copy.

If your child is only interested in auditioning for a solo, copies of the music will be available on Sunday. They should have all of the lyrics in the blue folder that they brought home. If your child has not yet received a folder, we will have them on Sunday as well.

If you have any further questions, please email me! Thanks!
